What we have done this year
2025 was an important year for La Novella Orchidea: in recent months, we celebrated our tenth anniversary, and not just virtually. As we wish you a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year, here is a little reminder of everything we have built together and a few previews for 2026.
A new story with a… pile-dwelling flavour
Let’s start with the publication of the year, the brand new “Avventura nelle palafitte” (Adventure in the Pile Dwellings), available in eBook, audiobook and comic book formats from all major online stores. This is an adventure that author Ricardo Tronconi is particularly fond of, so much so that he spent hours immersed in the MAVS (Archaeological Museum of Valle Sabbia) in Gavardo (BS), studying the artefacts and customs of the pile dwellers of the Lucone area, which are still being excavated today. Although the story is naturally a work of fiction, it contains many important historical details and is a tribute to the Polpenazze del Garda basin, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2011.
Revised, corrected and accessible editions
We then went through all our publications (more than a hundred in five different languages) and worked hard to find errors, typos and anything else that might interfere with reading. An example? The fonts in the comics have been standardised and made more readable, as well as being inserted in a fixed layout format that enhances the graphic rendering of the panels. And that’s not all: now, all eBooks (except comics) are accessible according to the guidelines of the EAA (European Accessibility Act). We discussed this at length in this article.
What awaits us next year
However, our work is not finished, and in 2026 we intend to give more space to audiobooks, seeking new distributors for those already published and increasing their number so that every eBook has its own audio version.
And, speaking of news, there is something big in the pipeline: after almost eleven years, author Ricardo Tronconi has decided to unveil the contents of his very first collection of short stories, which has remained unpublished until now. All we can say is that it will be called “La pifferaia magica” (The Pied Piper) and will have many surprises in store for you… but we are already revealing too much and do not want to give anything away.
So, see you next year with our best wishes for the end of 2025!
